Me-vid evaluation
Pre-production:
In this project I had picked up new pre-productions, the main
one in this project was learning how to create a shot list, by creating a shot
list I was able to have a better understanding of what to use in my me-vid, for
example locations and dialogue. As I was going to use pictures the shot list
help decide what to put on each scene.
As I was going to do a draw my life intro, I drew each
drawing on paper first so that when it came to recording I knew exactly what to
draw, by doing this I had a lack of mistakes which abled me to save time.
Within Production:
Green screening was something new to me, other than the
camera and tripod I had never used any of the equipment before. When filming I
had to understand the pressure under the lights and the high temperature given
off from them. Although from the experience I would know how to set up and use
the equipment appropriately.
I also done a draw my life theme, I found this very exciting
but, some parts of it were challenging. The challenging part of the draw my
life was the filming, as I had to get the camera angle correct and the run time
whilst I was drawing.
Post-production:
The first major skill I learnt post-production was how to
edit a green screen scene. Merging two images together was fairly easy when
using iMovie’s, it was just a case of dragging and dropping and image into a
video.
The second skill is something that I would use all the time,
adding pictures and videos into the timeline, again this process was straight
forward, I also learnt to edit and crop part of video this was something that I
would like to use in other videos.
Using these
skills in my next task:
In my next task I will be making a music video, some of the
main skills I have used in this task will be very crucial in the music video.
The first skill I will use in the music video will be
designing and using a shot list, as the music video may consist of using
different location and different effect and graphics, using a shot list would
make sure of fewer interruptions and time consuming moments were we have to
think about our next shot. In the past I have had issues when it came to management
of the cast, again using a shot list would make sure everybody knew what to do
and I would have less problems.
The second skill is learning how to use a green screen, in
the next task we may want to add a location to a scene were we can’t get too, I
also learnt how to set up and film a green screen scene, as in the placement of
lights to eliminate shadows, it is important to do this that the green screen
looking aesthetically pleasing and the image behind is clearly shown with no
fade outs.
